Attention Military Personnel: You May Still Qualify for $8,000 Homebuyer Tax Credits

Posted By on August 20, 2010

While the homebuyer tax credits expired for civilians on April 30, 2010, Congress has extended Homebuyer Tax Credits for qualified military personnel on new home purchases until April 30, 2011.

Qualified Military personnel have until April 30, 2011 to sign a purchase contract on a new home and must close by June 30, 2011 to qualify for up to $8,000 first time homebuyer tax credit or up to $6,500 for the repeat buyer tax credit.

Military personnel qualify for this extension if they served on active duty outside of the US for at least 90 days during the period beginning after December 31, 2008 and ending before May 1, 2010.

Potterhill Homes may be able to help you use your tax credit as down payment, leaving you with little or no out of pocket costs. Contact a Potterhill Homes representative for more details at http://www.potterhillhomes.com/
