10 things to have in a new home

Posted By on February 8, 2010

I was reading and article from Builder magazine over the weekend that published results from a recent survey on what buyers found to be important features to have in a new home. Not to my surprise did kitchens and master baths top out the list. However, there is a greater presence this past year on energy saving features and green building techniques. The following is a list of the 10 most common features to have in a new home according to Builder Magazine:
1. Radiant-heated bathroom floors
2. Butcher block “island” countertops
3. Glass tile kitchen backsplash
4. Dual flush commodes
5. Low flow showerheads
6. On demand “tankless” water heater
7. High efficient windows and doors
8. High performance insulation
9. Central vacuum
10. Wood kitchen cabinets
At Potterhill Homes we showcase unique architecture complimented with impeccable interior merchandising. Our included features are among the best in our price range. To learn more about our energy star green built homes please visit our website today at www.potterhillhomes.com

About the author

Carolyn Rolfes is the President of Potterhill Homes. And she's also a Rolfes - as in daughter of Dan Rolfes, the infamous Red Tag Man of Holiday Homes. So what does that say about Carolyn and who she is? Plenty. When you grow up the daughter of man who does commercials in his red underwear, you have no choice but to have a great sense of humor and humility from a very young age. Carolyn and Dan founded Potterhill Homes in 2001 and she has grown it to be one of the most successful home builders in Cincinnati. Home building is in her blood and she has a keen awareness of what consumers look for in a new home and how to deliver value at all levels. And while we don't make Carolyn dress up in green underwear for our commercials, we bet she would if we asked!
