Schooled on Freedom

Schooled on Freedom is a program that gives students from low income, marginalized schools the opportunity to tour the National Underground Railroad Freedom Center free of charge.  A Dater grant supported children from schools where 50% of students are on free and reduced lunch benefits.  The program provides free admission and paid transportation to and from the Freedom Center, pre and post visit resources, educational materials and Yale University Teacher workshops to all students and teachers participating.  This program brought over 4,500 students to the Freedom Center during the academic year.
