Beds for Cincinnati Children
St. Vincent de Paul - Cincinnati (SVDP) serves neighbors in need who find themselves in crisis moments. For families exiting a homeless shelter, escaping an abusive relationship, or simply struggling to get by in a new apartment, the cost of purchasing beds for each family member can be insurmountable. Additionally, there is always the threat of a bed bug infestation. SVDP’s Beds for Cincinnati Children program provides free beds with bed bug covers to children across Cincinnati who would otherwise be sharing a bed with other family members or would not have a safe, comfortable place to lay their head at night. Thanks to a grant from the Dater Foundation, SVDP was able to provide beds for 192 children in 2018. Sleeping in their own beds not only ensures that children are comfortable at night but also improves their physical, intellectual, and emotional well-being, paving the way for a brighter future.
