Educational Programs for Children and Families

The Taft Museum of Art provides meaningful experiences with great art in a historic setting and in the community, and creates enjoyment and learning opportunities through community-based educational and outreach initiatives.  In 2017-18, these included arts-integrated field trips for schools, Artists Reaching Classrooms for high school art students, Art for Underserved School Audiences (AUSA), badge programs for scouts, free 3rd Sunday Funday family day activities, Taft Jr., Summer Art Camp, and professional development workshops for teachers.  Taft education programs impacted 5,594 children and youth.  Art for Underserved School Audiences (AUSA) exceeded its goals by reaching 12 classrooms and 325 students who had two or more classroom visits from a Taft educator along with a visit to the Museum.  Students viewed the special exhibitions, Elegant Geometry: British and American Mosaic Patchwork Quilts, and Louis Comfort Tiffany: Treasures from the Driehaus Collection, and they created a group artwork that was displayed at the Cincinnati Public Library of Cincinnati and Hamilton County.
