Jobs for Cincinnati Graduates Program
The Jobs for Cincinnati Graduates program (JCG) provides at-risk youth with the educational support and job readiness training necessary to successfully stay in school through graduation and go on to achieve successful, sustainable employment. The program targets students who are experiencing severe barriers to graduation such as failing academics, poverty, absentee or incarcerated parent (s) or homelessness, and typically, JCG students are 50% more likely to be one or more modal grade levels behind in school, have 26% higher absence rates, and are 36% more likely to have been suspended, expelled, or put on probation.
Through the JCG program, students are enrolled in an in-school, one credit elective class which combines the nationally accredited, Jobs for America's Graduates experiential-based learning model with student enrichment experiences, community service activities, job-shadowing, internships and practical employment training.
