DePaul Cristo Rey has received significant recognition for achieving 100 percent college acceptance of every senior for five years in a row. While noteworthy for most schools, it is even more so at DPCR, where every student is from a low-income family and is frequently the first in the family to go to college. The college acceptance achievement follows DPCR’s four-year college-readiness program with its intense focus on academic and standardized testing preparation as well as helping students identify their "best fit" colleges. Staff give hands-on help to both students and parents through the college application and financial aid processes. After graduation, DPCR continues to academically, emotionally and financially support its alumni. A full-time graduate success director connects alumni with their new campus resources, makes campus visits and provides the necessary support to ensure their persistence through college. The Foundation grant supports these college support programs for both current DPCR students and for alumni through the Graduate Success Program.
