Free Educational Programs for Hamilton County Students

Great Parks Forever is the philanthropic partner of Great Parks of Hamilton County and works closely with park district staff to identify and prioritize opportunities to achieve our shared vision. A Dater grant provided funds for free and reduced-cost educational programming to school-aged children throughout Hamilton County during the 2017-2018 school year and summer.  Throughout the year, Great Parks’ staff provided outreach and inreach to students in a dynamic way focusing on the topics of science and nature in the form of in-class presentations and field trips to our parks.  Staff provided 14,206 students with 419 hours of educational programming as well as covering some of the transportation costs needed for field trips.  This program helped to boost classroom learning, increase interest in the subject matter, and create positive nature-based experiences.
