Community Outreach Through Art

The Baker Hunt Community Outreach through Art Program was developed to take art making into the community providing positive outlets for youth. The focus is on community schools, many of whom have lost their art programs due to budget restrictions. We provide art clubs and camps and some community events. The program focusses on taking art making opportunities into the community with emphasis on our local schools. Schools are looking to us to provide a positive outlet for children after school and in the summer. Our goal is to provide a safe place to make art and cook, steering them away from difficult or dangerous situations. And they have fun!.  BH has increased art interactions from 3,735 in 2019 to 10,775 in 2023.  The goal is to be in 14 schools/18 classrooms providing more than 13,000 art interactions at a cost of $84,132. We are asking the Dater Foundation to fund $35,000 and we will seek additional funding or fund the rest ourselves.
