Supporting Children's Programming
Cincinnati Public Radio will run at least 650 on air announcements promoting the Dater Foundation's mission and highlighting the many non-profit agencies it supports. These announcements will reach a weekly audience of more than 235,000 listeners for a full year.
Program Goals:
The objective of this grant is to build awareness for the Charles H. Dater Foundation’s mission to support non-profits that benefit children. By partnering with Cincinnati Public Radio, the Foundation can promote this important mission and encourage these agencies to apply for grants. Through this ongoing project, and by airing spots on WGUC, WVXU and WMUB, the Dater Foundation brings awareness to the organizations it supports and encourages listeners to support them, too. So many smaller nonprofits struggle to get their message out to potential donors and these announcements can make a significant impact. Cincinnati Public Radio listeners are curious, engaged and generous and they will hear the Dater Foundation messages all year long.
The goal is for Cincinnati Public Radio to broadcast at least 54 promotional spots every month throughout the year. The spots reflect the mission and core values of the Charles H. Dater Foundation to Greater Cincinnati by using 20-second on-air spots to highlight the Foundation's funded programs and explain the Foundation's purpose.
Program Results:
Cincinnati Public Radio aired 1,033 Dater Foundation spots between November 2022 and October 2023. The spots include generic spots about the foundation as well as a few dozen versions of spots that highlight the many local nonprofits Dater supports throughout the year.
Cincinnati Public Radio is proud to partner with dozens of local arts organizations and nonprofits every year, but we are not able to offer them on-air time/mentions. This grant makes it possible to promote them, and to shine a light on the good work the Dater Foundation does in our community. The spots we air give information on the Foundation's mission and ways to learn more about applying for a grant, in addition to highlighting the many local organizations that receive funding. We're proud to receive the grant and share these messages with our listeners throughout the year.
