This grant will support the overall programs of Crayons to Computers, providing access to school supplies, incentive and enhancement items to teachers at schools where 55% or more of the student population benefit from the free or reduced-cost lunch program. These teachers access supplies through our Teacher Resource Center, Online Orders and Crayons’ Closets/Hubbard’s Cupboards.
Program Results:
Through our Teacher Resource Center and other distribution methods (including Hubbard’s Cupboards, online orders and bulk distributions), we offer a variety of materials that support learning, including basic supplies like crayons, paper, scissors, and pencils, as well as enrichment and incentive items that teachers can use to motivate and inspire student engagement. Items are donated or purchased at reduced or wholesale prices and given to teachers when our programs operate (August - May).
In total, $5,234,232 worth of materials and supplies was distributed and 12,725 total shops were supported in 2022/2023. Teachers from a total of 504 schools and preK programs shopped during the year. Crayons reached approximately 33,367 students in need during the 2022-23 school year.
