Circle Tail School Facility/Therapy Dog Program

Circle Tail’s goal is to find the right job for the dog. The dogs who are not suited for service/hearing dog work may enter our Facility Dog Program.

Facility Dogs are specially trained to provide physical, social, cognitive, or emotional assistance to community members in schools/classrooms, courthouses, sober living homes, funeral homes, hospice centers, and more.

Circle Tail trains and places facility dogs in various school systems in the Greater Cincinnati area. These dogs have gone through at least two years of specialty training and have the capacity to assist and participate in the school system to help support children’s physical, emotional, and cognitive needs.

Program Goals:

Place 2 additional school facility/therapy dogs into a local school system.

Program Results:

2024 YTD we placed 10 new Circle Tail Facility/Therapy dogs in local school systems. The demand for facility/therapy dogs in schools has increased each year. We continue to train school staff and facility/therapy dogs to meet this increased demand.
