Education Outreach Series
The KSO enriches, educates and entertains area residents through a thematic program designed to make the concert experience attractive, accessible and affordable for all. For 24 seasons, the KSO’s Education Series has supplemented arts education in over 227 schools, reaching nearly 135,000 students free of charge. The educational concerts “Getting to Know You" and "Rags to Riches" introduced classical and American musical genres that enhance and engage student understanding and participation. A Dater grant helped the KSO reach 51 schools from seven counties in 2017-18. More than 57% of the 4,394 participants were economically disadvantaged.
