The Dan Beard Council (DBC) is grateful for the support of the C.H. Dater Foundation to support ScoutReach, which ensures all young people have an opportunity to join and benefit from the Scouting program. Lessons and activities are drawn from the nationally designed, time-tested Scouting curriculum developed and tested by volunteers who are leaders in the education field. Participant and leader handbooks and apps are available to answer programmatic questions.

ScoutReach serves our community’s most at-risk and disadvantaged youth (boys and girls) in under-served neighborhoods and communities. Program specialists are delivering traditionally based Scouting programming in partnership with schools (in-school and after-school) and other community partner organizations. ScoutReach programming provides youth access to positive role models and mentors. The program focuses on the acquisition of hard and soft skills, the competencies necessary for success in school and life, and addresses some of society's most pressing issues impacting our youth. The program offers experiential learning which embeds the acquisition of skills in a real-world context and in partnership with the foremost leaders and experts from in-demand industry sectors such as skilled trades. ScoutReach groups meet weekly, year-round, for 60-90 minutes. Supplemental activities include age-appropriate camping, hiking, STEM & skilled trades, community service, and field trips. Each program is custom to the needs of the school or organization.

The Dan Beard Council’s (DBC) ScoutReach program is currently serving 2,304 youth through 30 troops in partnership with 15 schools. Current ScoutReach school partners include:
