:Local Fresh Food Program

Through collaboration with corporate in-kind product donors and with local partners, Matthew 25: Ministries’ Fresh Food Focus distributes approximately 42 pallets of food per week. These pallets of top-quality fresh produce as well as additional perishable and non-perishable food items are distributed to local partners to supplement the great and essential work they are doing feeding our community. The Fresh Food Program serves approximately 350 communities through predominantly small and medium sized partners. These partners provide assistance to a variety of underserved and vulnerable populations including at risk children, youth and young adults, the homeless and the homebound as well as families and members of communities living in areas that have limited access to affordable and nutritious food. Matthew 25 distributed over 1 million pounds (more than 2,100 pallets) of fresh and nonperishable food in 2023 to more than 50 local pantry and shelter partners.

The Greater Cincinnati Outreach Program/Fresh Food Focus continues to meet the expectations forecast in our proposal, and to seek new and innovative ways to reach more people in need in our community. The Greater Cincinnati Outreach Program/Fresh Food Focus focuses on grassroots, small and medium sized pantries that often serve a non-mobile neighborhood population and have limited additional resources for their supplies. In 2023, the Fresh Food Focus developed a Mobile Farmers Market pilot program, bringing seasonal fruits and vegetables to local communities with limited access to fresh food. In total, our team distributed over 17,000 pounds of fresh produce and essential supplies during our Mobile Farmers Markets, helping more than 550 community members.
