When no grant application was received by June 2023, the Foundation made a "renewal grant" for the program for which funding had been provided in the previous year. Program Results:

No formal Grant Evaluation Report was submitted with results for the program. This “Success Narrative” was submitted in September 2024.

The grant supported our Black and Latino Achievers program, which served a diverse group of 7th-12th grade teens in Hamilton County. This program focused on bridging the academic achievement gap for Black and Latino youth by offering career readiness, mentorship, and exposure to various career fields. Participants came from public, private, and charter schools.

Pulling from our Hello Insight Surveys, we found the following highlights:

Core SEL Benchmark:
Pre: Mostly Advanced, Some emerging Young People
Post: the whole group was Meeting the National Benchmark

College Outlook: a young person’s motivation to apply for and attend college-a fundamental belief that they will be able to succeed in this context.
At PRE:
50% of students were ‘emerging’ and showing the capacity for growth in this area.
50% of students were already advanced in this area.
At Post:
100% of emerging students showed growth and 100% of advanced students maintained or grew in this area.

Goal Orientation: A young person’s capacity to envision a positive future and set a path forward to achieve their dreams.
At PRE:
17% of students were ‘emerging’ and showing the capacity for growth in this area.
83% of students were ‘advanced’
At POST:
100% of emerging students showed growth and 100% of advanced students maintained or grew in this area.

Other highlights include:
100% growth in positive identity from students who were ‘emerging’ in that category.
100 % growth in social skills
