Ronald McDonald House Expansion Highlighted

The expansion of the Cincinnati Ronald McDonald House was the subject of a front-page article in the Cincinnati Enquirer on Sunday, April 25.  The Dater Foundation has made six grants totaling $180,000 to the local Ronald McDonald House, including a $100,000 grant for the Charles H. Dater Children's Theatre.

Cincinnati's Ronald McDonald House uk best essays.org provides a home away from home for families with seriously ill children receiving treatment at Cincinnati Children's Hospital. Dater Foundation funding not only started the Family Performance Series in 2003, it is helping the program grow.  In 2008, 253 activity or performance groups visited the House.  In 2009 alone, this figure has doubled to 507 visits. From August 2009 – July 2010, the average number of days booked with special activities per month was 94%.  This grant is providing performer stipends, supplying materials for activities, funding expenses for off-site activities essays services reviews.com as well as covering administrative costs.  These activities not only lift the spirits of children coping with serious illnesses, but help their families de-stress so they can better support their children's healing.

As one grateful mother commented:  It was enjoyable for my daughter to be involved in the crafts and special activities that were provided.  They helped her heal - allowing her a sense that this was just a moment and that things would be okay. Thank you all!
